Some of the best golf stories aren’t about breaking 80 or sinking a long birdie putt—they’re about building something that lasts far beyond the scorecard.

This week, we’re proud to recognize Jake, a 35-year-old artist who discovered golf at the age of 30 while searching for a new hobby. Like so many of us, he quickly realized that golf is one of the most challenging—and rewarding—games you’ll ever play. What started as curiosity turned into a passion, and today you’ll find him teeing it up once or twice a week.

But what stood out most to us wasn’t how often Jake plays. It was why he brings his daughter, Kennedy, along.

Raised by his grandparents, Jake didn’t have the opportunity to share golf with a parent growing up. That experience inspired him to create something different for his own daughter—a tradition they can enjoy together for the rest of their lives.

At nearly three years old, Kennedy has already played close to 100 rounds with her dad. She’s currently swinging a tiny 7-iron and putter, with her first kids’ golf set coming soon. More importantly, she’s learning lessons that extend well beyond the course.

Golf teaches patience. It builds focus. It develops mental toughness. It encourages resilience after every bad shot and humility after every great one. And in a world full of screens, it gives Jake and Kennedy something priceless: time together outdoors, creating memories one round at a time.
